Maruti Suzuki associates with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for a 21-day rally across the Northeast Region with Jimny and Grand Vitara

On November 6th, 2023, in New Delhi, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the leading automobile manufacturer in the country, is delighted to announce its partnership with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for an ambitious 21-day rally covering over 3,500 kilometers in Northeastern India. This collaboration aims to inspire young people to join the National Cadet Corps and promote cultural exchange in the Northeastern region. The journey commences in Shillong and will culminate on November 26, 2023, in Guwahati, marking the 75th anniversary of NCC.

The ceremonial flag-off of this rally was attended by the Honorable Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri Conrad K. Sangma, along with senior executives from Maruti Suzuki, the Director General of NCC, and the Director General of Assam Rifles from GOC 101 Area.

A dedicated team of 18 NCC officers and 76 cadets will guide the rally, covering 3,500 kilometers in 7 Maruti Suzuki Jimnys and 5 flagship Grand Vitara SUVs. The rally will traverse several Northeastern states, including Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya, concluding in Guwahati on November 26th, 2023.

Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed his honor at Maruti Suzuki’s association with the NCC for this rally. He wished all participants the best in this exciting journey and emphasized the suitability of Maruti Suzuki’s SUVs for tackling challenging terrains.

Major General Gagan Deep, ADG, NER DTE, NCC, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating that the car rally aims to foster camaraderie, leadership, sportsmanship, adventure, and a sense of patriotism among the youth, encouraging them to uphold NCC’s core values.

Throughout the journey, the convoy will make stops along the route to engage with students from 277 schools and 151 colleges across 44 districts, participating in various cultural events. NCC cadets will also directly interact with local youth, immersing themselves in the rich social heritage and promoting the importance of cultural exchange among people from diverse regions.
