Jaguar TCS racing finish runners-up in the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in London 

In the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship held in London, Jaguar TCS Racing achieved a remarkable performance, finishing as runners-up with a total of 292 points – the team’s highest points tally in Formula E to date. New Zealander, Mitch Evans, showcased his talent and dedication, securing third place in the Drivers’ World Championship with an impressive 197 points, narrowly missing the second-place position held by Nick Cassidy by only two points.

Notably, British driver Sam Bird concluded the season in eighth place, marking his final race for the Jaguar TCS Racing team after three memorable years together. Throughout his tenure, Sam contributed significantly to the team’s success, earning seven podiums, two wins, and an impressive 215 points. The London finale also marked his 100th Formula E race, solidifying his status as a seasoned veteran within the paddock.

The competition in the championship was fierce, with Jaguar TCS Racing and Envision Racing, the customer team of Jaguar, being neck and neck in the points race. Ultimately, Envision Racing clinched the Teams’ World Championship title with 304 points, securing a Jaguar 1-2 in the championship standings.

Jaguar TCS Racing’s Team Principal, James Barclay, expressed pride in the team’s achievements during the highly competitive Gen3 era of Formula E. While the team missed the Teams’ World Championship title, they celebrated the success of Envision Racing. Barclay extended his gratitude to Sam Bird for his significant contributions and achievements during his time with the team.

Looking back on the season, Mitch Evans expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, highlighting the four wins, three Pole positions, and seven podiums achieved during the year. Despite a challenging start, Evans and the team fought valiantly, bringing the championship fight down to the final race.

Sam Bird, while acknowledging the team’s efforts, mentioned that the season had its ups and downs. He expressed gratitude to the team for their support and looked forward to the future.

The 2024 season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is scheduled to kick off on January 13 in Mexico City 2024.
