Launch of Hyundai Motor India Foundation’s CSR Projects in Maharashtra by Shri Girish Mahajan

Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), has announced the launch of various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Maharashtra, focusing on the Art, Health, and Sanitation sectors. The launch event, held at the Bombay Art Society in Mumbai, was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Girish Mahajan, Minister of Rural Development & Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Maharashtra.

The initiatives introduced include:

  1. Art for Hope Initiative: Under the flagship ‘Art for Hope’ initiative, HMIF provided financial grants to 10 artists from across the country. These grants support virtual upskilling in soft skills, art management, and personal branding.
  2. Sparsh Sanjeevani Program: As part of the ‘Sparsh Sanjeevani’ program, five telemedicine clinics were inaugurated in Talegaon, along with the deployment of two mobile medical vans in Nagpur and Aurangabad districts.
  3. H₂OPE Project: HMIF launched the ‘H₂OPE’ project, which includes the installation of 100 water RO systems in schools across Gadhchiroli, benefiting over 35,000 students.

During the inauguration, Shri Girish Mahajan praised HMIF’s commitment to improving lives through these initiatives, emphasizing the impact on healthcare and sanitation access in Maharashtra.

Detailed Breakdown of Initiatives:

  • Art for Hope – Season 3: This two-day cultural event celebrated 10 differently-abled artists from across India. These artists were not only provided grants but also received training in soft skills, art management, and personal branding, empowering them for sustainable and inclusive income opportunities.
  • Telemedicine Clinics and Mobile Medical Vans: HMIF established five telemedicine clinics in underserved villages in Talegaon, ensuring remote medical consultations and healthcare services. Additionally, two mobile medical vans equipped with essential medical facilities were introduced in Nagpur and Aurangabad, directly serving rural and underprivileged populations.
  • Water RO Systems in Schools: To ensure clean drinking water for students, HMIF installed 100 RO plants in schools across Gadhchiroli. This initiative aims to promote health and hygiene among students, creating a better learning environment.

These CSR projects align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reflect Hyundai Motor Company’s vision of ‘Progress for Humanity,’ demonstrating HMIF’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community development.
