Blue Energy Motors Celebrates Milestone with 500th Green Fuel Truck Rollout
National, 27 August 2024: Blue Energy Motors, a leading green fuel truck manufacturer, has reached a significant milestone with the rollout and sale of its 500th truck from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pune. This marks a major step towards sustainability, as each LNG truck from Blue Energy Motors produces significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional diesel-powered trucks. As production ramps up, the heavy-duty trucking industry now has a viable, cost-effective option for immediate decarbonization, making a positive impact on climate change.
The milestone was celebrated at the Chakan facility in Pune, attended by Mr. Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, and the senior leadership team.

With this milestone, Blue Energy Motors’ fleet of LNG trucks has already covered over 20 million kilometers, reducing emissions by more than 5,000 tonnes of CO2.
The BE 5528+ tractor, introduced in September 2022 as the company’s first model, marked Blue Energy Motors’ entry into the LNG-fueled truck industry. Since then, the BE 5528+ has successfully reduced the logistics carbon footprint for the cement and steel sectors. Equipped with FPT multipoint stoichiometric combustion engine technology, the truck offers best-in-class total cost of ownership (TCO) and operates more quietly than conventional fuel-powered trucks. With 280 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque, it is one of the most powerful liquefied natural gas trucks available in the Indian market. The truck also features the industry’s first 990L fuel tank, providing a range of up to 1,400 kilometers on a single fill, ensuring extensive coverage as the LNG dispensing network expands. The BE 5528+ also includes a spacious driver cab with an air-suspended seat and automatic climate control, offering a comfortable environment for long hauls. State-of-the-art AI and ML-enabled proprietary telematics continuously monitor truck parameters, ensuring class-leading productivity supported by Blue Energy Motors’ own network of service touchpoints.
With a production capacity of 10,000 trucks, which can be expanded further as the market evolves and demand increases, Blue Energy Motors has established itself as a market disruptor in the clean energy heavy-duty trucking sector.
