Introducing the Hyundai EXTER: Proudly Made in India, Now Arriving in South Africa
- Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) celebrates 20 years of exports to South Africa, starting in 2004.
- The Hyundai EXTER, exclusively manufactured in India, is the latest model to be exported to South Africa.
- EXTER joins Hyundai’s lineup of seven other models exported to South Africa, including the GRAND i10 NIOS, AURA, i20, i20 N Line, VENUE, VENUE N Line, and ALCAZAR.
Gurugram | September 23, 2024: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the largest exporter of passenger vehicles from India by volume, has expanded its export portfolio by introducing the Hyundai EXTER to South Africa. This marks the eighth model exported by HMIL to the country, reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-quality, Indian-made vehicles to international markets.
Mr. Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head – Corporate Planning at HMIL, emphasized the significance of the South African market, stating, “South Africa has been a crucial export destination for HMIL, with many models from our Tamil Nadu factory being shipped there. As 2024 marks 20 years of exporting top-notch vehicles to South Africa, our ‘Made in India, Made for the World’ philosophy underscores HMIL’s manufacturing excellence. Our vehicles not only resonate with Indian consumers but also attract global acclaim. We are confident that the Hyundai EXTER will be well-received in South Africa, mirroring its success and widespread popularity in India.”
The first shipment of 996 units of the EXTER has been sent to South Africa, making it Hyundai’s eighth model offering in the country.
Manufactured exclusively by HMIL, the Hyundai EXTER has quickly surpassed 100,000 sales in India within its first year of launch. In 2024, the EXTER becomes an even more compelling choice with the addition of Hy-CNG (Dual Cylinder CNG) and the Knight Edition variants, continuing to perform strongly in the dynamic Indian market.
