Kia is set to announce a price increase across its entire range, effective from April 1, 2024. In an official statement released on March 21, 2024, Kia India, a prominent player in the premium car segment, revealed that prices for its mass models, including the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens, will see an uptick of up to 3%. This decision comes in response to the surge in commodity prices and related supply chain challenges. It represents the first adjustment in prices made by the company this year.
Addressing the price revision, Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, remarked, “Kia remains committed to delivering premium, technologically advanced vehicles to our valued customers. However, the ongoing escalation in commodity prices, unfavorable exchange rates, and increasing input costs necessitate a partial price adjustment. Despite this, the company is absorbing a considerable portion of the increase, ensuring that customers can continue to enjoy their favorite Kia models without significant financial strain.”
Kia has achieved notable success in both domestic and international markets, having sold nearly 1.16 million units to date. Among its top-selling models, the Seltos leads with over 613,000 unit sales, followed by the Sonet with more than 395,000 units and the Carens with 159,000 units.
