Tata Tiago Achieves Impressive Sales Milestone of 500,000 Units

Kochi, 6th July 2023: Tata Motors, a leading automotive manufacturer in India, has proudly announced that the Tiago has reached a significant milestone of selling 500,000 units. Within a span of just 15 months, the last 100,000 units were sold, indicating the growing appeal of the Tiago to customers seeking a dynamic and comfortable driving experience. The celebration kicked off with a symbolic roll-out at the Tiago’s home ground, the Sanand facility in Gujarat.

Over the years, the Tiago has garnered more than 40 prestigious awards and gained immense popularity among numerous young and dynamic customers. Its attractive design, exceptional safety features, feature-rich interiors, and cutting-edge technology integration have been key factors contributing to its success. The Tiago range offers multiple powertrain options, including Petrol, CNG, and Electric. Additionally, the Tiago NRG boasts an SUV-inspired design with off-roading capabilities and is available in both Petrol and CNG variants. The Tiago has achieved the highest rating of 51 in Net Promoter Score, a clear testament to the brand’s triumph.

The Tiago’s buyer profile showcases its resonance with young and aspirational individuals, with an average buyer age of 35 years. Urban markets account for 60% of Tiago’s sales, while rural markets contribute the remaining 40%, underscoring its broad appeal across different customer segments. The Tiago has also seen a positive shift in female buyers, who now comprise approximately 10% of its sales. Notably, the Tiago has gained immense popularity among first-time car buyers, with 71% of customers making their maiden car purchase in FY23.

Since its launch, the Tiago has achieved several key milestones, embodying Tata Motors’ new design philosophy and setting the stage for future models. In January 2020, the Tiago received a 4-star safety rating from GNCAP, solidifying its position as the safest hatch in its segment.
